Nema’s Boom Boom Room Gets Soulful and Sassy

Nema’s Boom Boom Room got soulful, sassy, and funky the other night. Each act brought passion to the stage, which wowed the crowd and filled the room with energy.

Opening act, Britanny Fousheé graced the stage with her soulful voice, big hair and acoustic set. She performed her aural rendition of Rihanna’s “BBHMM” followed by a heart felt record of her own.

From the moment Kofi Black opened his mouth until his set was over, he swept the crowd off their feet. He opened his set with a cover to the late –great James Brown’s “It’s A Man’s World”, followed by two original self-produced records of his own.  Kofi gained crowd participation as he performed a classic record, “Before I Let Go” by Frankie Beverly and Maze.

The headliner of the evening, MJ Songtress delivered a spicy yet sassy set. Accompanied by her dad on the guitar, MJ Songtress delivers a cover to the late-great Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” and three original songs of her own. She says, “some music you are familiar with, and music you will soon be familiar with.”

Celebrity Guests included DJ Suss One, DJ Fluker, JoJo Brim, Julito McCullum, Ian Thomas, Roseay (of Hip Hop Weekly) and Alyvi (of Sirius Radio)
